Oyanu Terms of Service (with Community Guidelines)
Oyanu is operated by PT AMCORE TECH INDONESIA (AmcoreAI), Jl. Cihampelas No.201A, Kelurahan Cipaganti, Kecamatan Coblong, Kota Bandung, West Java 40131, Indonesia ("we"), the controller of your personal data. By signing up for or using Oyanu you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13 (or older where local law requires).
- Keep your sign-in method safe; you're responsible for what happens in your account. Guest accounts are bound by these terms too.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account or on the web.
2. Community guidelines
Oyanu is where travellers warn and help each other. Not allowed anywhere (posts, comments, safety reports, messages, nicknames and photos):
- scams, phishing, pyramid schemes, fake deals, or pushing people to pay off-platform;
- harassment, abuse, threats, hate speech or personal attacks;
- made-up safety reports, accusations you know are false, or naming private individuals and exposing their private details (phone, address, ID, photos);
- sexual content, graphic violence, illegal goods or services, or encouraging dangerous acts;
- spam, flooding, or impersonating others or Oyanu;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights.
2A. Hostel listings and reviews
- Hostel listings, ratings, reviews, photos and warning tags are submitted by users and shown publicly with your nickname. A hostel listing goes live only after a moderator approves it.
- Reviews are their authors' own experiences and opinions, not Oyanu's views, endorsement or verification. We don't guarantee any hostel's safety, price or service — use your own judgement.
- You must be 18 or older to post hostel reviews and photos (the rest of Oyanu remains 13+). Only review hostels you actually stayed at or experienced yourself, and describe them honestly. Honest negative reviews based on your own experience are welcome; criticise the service, not people — don't make personal accusations against staff or other individuals.
- Not allowed:
- fake reviews, or made-up or exaggerated experiences;
- reviews written for money, gifts, discounts or other benefits, or offering or demanding such benefits to post or remove a review;
- review bombing or coordinating others to mass-rate a hostel up or down (including with multiple accounts);
- reviews by a hostel's owners, staff, their relatives, competitors or anyone else with a conflict of interest, of that hostel or its competitors;
- defamatory or illegal content, or content that infringes others' rights;
- photos showing other people's identifiable personal data (faces, IDs, room numbers with names, licence plates) without their consent;
- anything else banned by section 2.
- Ranking: listings are ordered by weighted average score, number of reviews and how recent they are. There is no paid placement: no hostel can pay to rank higher, raise its score or have reviews removed. Some booking or travel links on the Oyanu website (and, where marked, in the app later) are affiliate links (see section 6); we may earn a commission if you book through them, but whether a hostel has an affiliate link or earns us a commission does not affect its ranking, scores or which reviews are shown.
- To prevent abuse, we limit how often you can submit hostels, reviews, votes and reports.
- How reviews are handled: we currently do not verify that reviewers actually stayed at a hostel, and reviews are not labelled as "verified stays". Positive and negative reviews are shown alike; we hide or remove a review only for breaking these Terms or the law (never because of its rating or because it is negative), and removed reviews are excluded from scores, review counts and ranking.
3. Reporting, blocking and enforcement
- Every post, comment, safety report and user can be reported or blocked from the ⋮ menu. Once blocked, you won't see their content and they can't message you.
- We review reports and may remove content, warn or suspend accounts, and we keep a record of each decision. Moderators cannot read direct messages.
- To appeal a decision, e-mail privacy@amcoreai.com.
- Every hostel listing and review can be reported. After review we may label, hide or remove content and restrict, suspend or ban accounts (including from submitting, reviewing or voting). Hostel owners or representatives can request a correction or removal via the in-app report or by e-mailing privacy@amcoreai.com, stating who they are and why; we decide after hearing both sides and never remove or keep a review for payment, nor remove an honest review just because the owner disagrees with it. Authors whose reviews are hidden or removed can appeal as described at the end of this section. We act on lawful orders from the competent authorities within the time limits set by law. Anyone can notify us of a listing or review they consider illegal (explaining why and where it is); when we hide or remove content or restrict an account, we tell the affected user what we decided and why, by in-app notice.
- Copyright notices: if you believe content on Oyanu infringes your copyright, e-mail privacy@amcoreai.com with: (1) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf; (2) identification of the copyrighted work (or a list, if several); (3) identification of the material claimed to infringe and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it (such as a link to the review or listing); (4) your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf. We will review the notice, act on it and inform the author of the content concerned.
4. Your content
- You own your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, reformat (for example compress or strip metadata), display and transmit it as needed to operate and display Oyanu. You can edit or delete your own reviews at any time. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups not yet overwritten, content we must keep by law or for a dispute, and content others have already shared.
- The location of a safety report is public — only report what you experienced or verified.
5. Limits of user information, reviews and AI
- Posts, safety reports and hostel reviews come from users; we can't verify each one — use your own judgement.
- In an emergency, call the local police or ambulance directly. Hotlines on the SOS page come from official sources but can change; check the local listing.
- AI tips and AI receipt scan are generated by AI and can be wrong; check a scanned amount before relying on it. Exchange rates are ECB reference rates, for information only.
6. Changes to the service; liability
- Oyanu's features may change, pause or be removed. We will try to give notice of material changes.
- Affiliate links: some links on the Oyanu website (and, where marked, in the app later) are affiliate links; if you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. The Travelpayouts affiliate script the website uses, its cookies and how to opt out are described in section 8 of the Privacy Policy.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses from using or being unable to use Oyanu, or from content posted by others.
7. Changes to these terms; contact
Changes are published here with a new effective date; important changes are announced in the app. Contact: privacy@amcoreai.com.
8. Language
The English version of this document is the official text. For users in Indonesia, the Indonesian version prevails. All other language versions (including Chinese) are reference translations and may be machine-translated; if they differ from the English version, the English version prevails, or the Indonesian version for users in Indonesia. Where mandatory local law requires otherwise, that law applies.
